- Can a new business survive without financing, paying all out of pocket?
That's how Scott Lacko plans to build Kozar Technologies in Eagle River.
Kozar takes over the former Ogren Electronics building on the corner of Wall Street and Silver Lake Road in Eagle River.
The company is 100 percent locally owned, with zero financing from outside of town.
Lacko wants to keep taking care of the customers who've come to expect service from the local business.
"We hope to grow the business back to what it was three years ago, three, four years ago," Lacko said.
"Bring back the integrity, and the quality of work that made the name prior to this point."
Lacko has two other employees working with him.
He plans to expand his retail presence.
They currently products and services in music, surround sound, security systems, lighting, and more.
Lacko says relationships are important in tough economic times.
"We need to find a way to bring some value to those customers," Lacko said.
"That's what we're working towards. We just can't be running around and spending money and expanding rapidly. We need to make this nice and slow and try to live within our means."
