- Crescent residents may be getting a new place to play.
The town board is working on a land trade so it can develop a park next to the town hall.
The new park would allow the volunteer fire department and other organizations to host fundraising picnics and community events.
Town chairman Bill Treder has been working on the project since April.
He's still waiting on legal paperwork, but hopes they could break ground in spring.
So far, there's no specific plan for the park.
"We as a town board, and everyone probably has a vision of what the park should be," Treder said. "I'm sure our firefighters have an idea of what they would like to see. I would imagine myself a pavilion and picnic areas and it would be nice to expand to whatever we can."
The town would swap about three acres of its property with six acres of private land.
The trade would cost about $13,000.
