- People startled by fighter jets overhead can rest easy tonight their activity was just practice.
In 2009 a Canadian plane illegally flew into U.S. airspace through Wisconsin.
Now, the U.S. Air National Guard practices its moves as they did today.
"It's basically our Air National Guard and they're doing manuevers," Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport Director Joe Brauer said.
"They like to come up to the Northwoods and such like that because it's less populated than other parts of Wisconsin."
Brauer says the 2009 incident forces the Guard to practice these manuevers every few months.
