Wausau US Banks Selling Cookies to Help Pay for Honor Flights Submitted: 11/09/2012
WAUSAU - Just in time for Veterans' Day, US Bank branches in Wausau look to support our heroes. To help raise money for the Honor Flight Program, customers can buy patriotic cookies for a dollar.

Honor Flight is a national program that sponsors flights for veterans to the war memorials in Washington, DC.

"People should come out and buy a cookie just to support our veterans," Dale Bushman with US Bank said. "Just to help our veterans get to see that memorial that's in their name."

This is the third year of participation for local US Banks.

The last two years, they raised 15-hundred dollars, which pays for three vets. This year, they hope to sell even more.

"All the proceeds from those dollars go to the Honor Flight," Bushman said. "The actual cost of the cookies were 100% employee donations."

You can buy the honor flight cookies, patches, and pins at one of the US Bank branches in Weston and Rib Mountain.
