Sentencing Delayed for Doctor Guilty of Having Child Pornography Submitted: 10/09/2012
RHINELANDER - We'll have to wait a little longer to see how long a doctor convicted of having child porn will go to jail.

Former Ministry Healthcare Doctor, Bruce Jacobson, was supposed to be sentenced today.

But his attorney wanted it rescheduled. He says it will take half a day to get through testimony from witnesses he wants at the sentencing.

Jacobson was charged back in January with one felony count of possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty in July.

Today his attorney, Jeff Jackomino, told the judge Jacobson has had both inpatient and outpatient treatment.

"There will be letters of recommendation as well as testimony both from the treating psychiatrist as well as testimony, which I will bring out, from the investigating officer with regard to certain factual findings," says Jackomino.

Assistant District Attorney Steve Michlig and the defense plan to present a joint recommendation for sentencing for the judge.

That will include probation with some jail time, along with other conditions like staying away from the internet.

Jacobson will be sentenced December 20th.
