Wausau Man Killed by Officer had History of Fleeing Submitted: 10/09/2012
EAU CLAIRE - The Wausau man shot dead by an Eau Claire officer had a record of fleeing from police.

Twenty four year old Christian Peterson was shot and killed after he tried to climb into a pickup truck stopped at a Culver's drive-through window Friday.

Police say they were chasing Peterson because he had been involved in two hit-and-run crashes.

Officers say he had also stolen an SUV in an armed home invasion in Eau Claire.

He had failed to return to the Marathon County Jail September 20th and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Peterson was jailed in Chippewa County in 2010 for fleeing an officer.

He was also sentenced to prison in 2011 for fleeing an officer and drug possession.
