MINOCQUA - Drinking beers and eating burgers that’s how hundreds of people spent their Saturday afternoon in Minocqua as Brewfest kicked off.
More than 20 micro-breweries from all over the country participated this year.
The 8th annual event was held at Torpy Park and attracted about 9-hundred people.
Minocqua Brewfest Co-Chair, John Spickerman, said "We have sampling of micro-brews all over the Midwest some as far away as the west coast. People come in and have sampling and buy food."
But it’s not all about the beer.
There were several bands rocking out and plenty of games for kids.
And of course, a wide range of cuisines.
The event helps raise money for the Lac du Flambeau Lions Club.
Spickerman says their goal is to raise 10 to 12-thousand dollars.
