ANTIGO - After the death of two Antigo High School students in a Memorial Day car crash, many wonder how it could have been avoided.

Just last week, Antigo High School tried to give students a dose of reality with demonstration of a car crash.

But as Action Alliance member, and father of three Keith Wolf says, sometimes that's not enough.

"I think when a bunch of kids are together, at some point, there's a flashpoint where all that information goes out the window, because they're just having such a good time, and they just kind of get lost in the moment," says Wolf.

For Jeffrey Smith and Jacob Arrowood, a moment was all it took to end their lives. The community hopes this tragedy will give other teens pause, if just for just a moment, to consider what could happen before they get behind the wheel.

"Getting ready for the end of the school year, this should be a joyous time, a time of celebration... Just take a few minutes, to think about safety precautions, either when you're in a vehicle or when you're with your friends," says Langlade County Sheriff Bill Greening.

Two other passengers, Dillon Sus, and Dustin Bricko remain hospitalized in Wausau.

The Langlade County Sheriff says they're still waiting on toxicology reports to see if alcohol played a part in this crash.
