MADISON - A college instructor says she'll run for an open Northwoods Senate seat this fall.

Democrat Lisa Theo teaches geography and geology at the UW-Stevens Point.

She announced today she plans to run for Sen. Jim Holperin's 12th district seat.

Holperin, a Democrat from Conover, announced last month he won't seek re-election in November.

Sixteen seats, including the 12th District's, will be up for election in November.
